Hosted by Competition Corvettes of Oklahoma (CCO) Saturday October 23, 2004
& Corvette Owners Association of South Texas (COAST) Sunday, October 24, 2004 14 Lo-Speed Events in Oklahoma City @ Remington Park Cowtown had 12 Vettes and 21 Members that participated in the event.
The last event of the year warranted something special - Bob Morrison had the idea of a T-Shirt with wording similar to what is shown below - add a cartoon and zing - we came up with these in less than 3 days - it features Larry Kolb's '67 in cartoon form

This was the final SW Region NCCC racing event for the 2004 season - it was going to be a long weekend with 14 events on the plate. Going into the last race weekend, Cowtown was in 1st Place in the SW Region with a 912 points ahead (10/17) of Oklahoma City Corvette Club (OCCC) - we will have to see the results of this event to see if Cowtown or OCCC wins 1st in the Region. We drove up on Friday - in small caravans leaving DFW at various times throughout the day - most of us ran into rain on the way up.
 | <- Upon arriving at the hotel, looking to the East, there was a great rainbow, by the time I got my camera it had lessened some :( Looking to the West, the sunset on the clouds was awesome!!! -> | | | | | | | | We arrived at the track at dark-30 for sure, this was taken an hour or so later | Red Greenfeder took their C6 (5-weeks old) out to see how it would handle - on his 1st NCCC Autocross, running Novice on Saturday and 1SJ class on Sunday | | | | | | | | | | Several of our members waiting for the Driver's Meeting to start | | | | | | Karyn Fowler raced all fourteen events this weekend, driving the Meyer's '77 and Don Davis came up and raced the 7 events on Saturday - both had a lot of fun from what they said. Saturday, we ran the course counter-clockwise with several gates and a large 360 degree turn after the slalom - it was a fun course. On Sunday they reversed it the track to clock-wise with the first two autocrosses on still containing the big 360 turn. It was removed for the last five autocrosses to speed the events up. We also ran only 1 run per autocross the last five to speed things up - with the option for each racer to take their second run after one run in all seven were completed by all racers. Those traveling a distance which desired to leave after that one run could. | | | | | |
