30TH ANNIVERSARY - PHOTO LAYOUTS

During Friday's 30th Meeting, several ideas were asked & kicked around about how to enhance our 30th Anniversary Photo, since it will be on a parking lot and not a green scenic area as seen in several other club photos.

I have taken another club's 88 Vette photo, added our point Vettes (1974 & 2004) and placed them on a simulated parking lot w/trees in the background.

Beyond that, I have tinkered with enhancements based on our discussions Friday, just to offer a flavor of what can be digitally done - these are just quick examples and very little pain was gone thru to create them (unlike our final photo will have).

30th Photo - Vette Layout

A Simulation / Mock-Up of our 30th Layout

The photos below were re-imaged with the background taken in Location #1 & #2 below.

KEEP IN MIND THESE MOCK-UPS ARE OUT OF SCALE AND DISTORTED & TAKEN AT THE WRONG ELEVATION

LOCATION 1 - SOUTH OF CAT'S STADIUM, NORTH OF DOWTOWN

These lot photos were taken around 4:00 pm

This is the view as you turn into the parking lot after exiting Main at the 1st stop light North of the Bridge

(camera elev +/-5')

This is the view looking North - Cat's Stadium

(camera elev +/-12')

Views of the large parking lot

there are 17 car spaces between each set of light poles

(camera elev +/-12')

This is taken without going all the way back in the parking lot.

Vette should be slightly farther back than the back row at our shoot

(camera elev +/-8')

This is taken with the Vette close to the back of the lot.

Vette should be slightly farther back than the back row at our shoot

(camera elev +/-8')

To the East, you see the Trinity River - Vette should be slightly farther back than the back row at our shoot.

Light pole shadows are VERY pronounced with the Sun at my back - keep hoping for a high-thin-overcast day

(camera elev +/-8')

The native photo

This is a mock-up of what the "native" photo would look like, other than maybe more city in the skyline?

This mock-up has some added Ft Worth Landmarks/scenes (picked at random)

This mock-up is the same as the one to the left other than several CTV/TMS faint images have been added

The wallpaper effect on the photo could be created from FW photos, club event photos, etc., all depending on what we can find and tie-together.  These samples show a little mixture of all of those options.

LOCATION 2 - NEW!!!

These lot photos were taken around 3:30 pm

This location is a Industrial Business Park that Bob Morrison hooked us up with - located just South of 121 on Beach.

The background (buildings), if visible in the final photos would have to be digitally replaced.

Bob's Customer has offered the use of the parking lot and a scissor lift along with roof access from the building to take the photos - FREE.

The sign at the entrance to the Business Park

The large parking lot in the middle has plenty of room for 100 Vettes

(camera elev +/-12')

There is a building for lease (looking right from the pics on the left) that could serve as a decent replacable background

(camera elev +/-5')

lots of parking options - shadows will play a factor in how we can turn the Vettes around 2pm

(camera elev +/-5')

The "native" photo

earlier in the day, the building shadows shouldn't be an issue along with being 20' higher in elevation

This is a mock-up of what the "native" photo would look like, other than maybe more city in the skyline?

This mock-up has the Ft Worth Skyline added - the light poles and such would have to be digitally removed, which I didn't bother with for these mock-ups

Also added were some Ft Worth Landmarks/scenes (picked at random)

This mock-up is the same as the one to the left other than several CTV/TMS faint images have been added

WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES THE BRIGHT SUN MAKE???

You've heard me talking at several of the meetings about keeping your fingers crossed for a high-thin-layer of clouds to help the quality of our photo shoot.  Below you can tell the difference with bright sun (left) vs overcast (right) - tends to bleach the Vettes out.  Also, looking at the shadows on the left photo - the Sun was towards the camera.
