BLUE SHINER CRUISE - 7/25/14 - PAGE 2 OF 2

2nd Day of the Blue Shiner Cruise to South Texas
on July 25, 2014

Heading on down the road to Shiner Texas, our next stop

The town "skyline" as you arrive into Shiner

a quick stop to regroup as we came into town plus an opportunity to grab a few cruiser points

most of us parked at the Spoetzel Brewery and walked up the street for lunch

Lunch at Sunken Gardens in Shiner, TX
a buffet with "healthy fixed food"

they even reserved us a room

Our second feature stop for today, the Spoetzel Brewery in Shiner, TX
we met outside while Doug went in to put our name on the tour list
our group was so large part of the group had to split up into a second tour group

a really good tour (and guide) ...hard to believe that every bottle or can of Shiner beer comes thru these copper brewing vessels

we watched as cans were tumbled, cleaned, filled and capped

the tops to the cans cans with no tops from the bottom, out the top sealed and ready
very interesting to see the whole process and hear the volume they are producing daily

Cruisin' on down the road
more cruising was on the schedule for today however the group voted to skip that and head to the hotel to relax for the rest of afternoon

which which routed us onto a road with construction

We stayed in La Grange - a bit north of Shiner and our reservations for dinner

...however, the pool was great

Dinner at Robert's Steakhouse in Flatonia, TX
another private room for our group

A highly recommended (by Glenda's cousin) restaurant down the road from La Grange, TX where we stayed for the night

CONTINUE TO DAY THREE
