A beautiful day to come out and walk while learning the history of Fort Worth
we met at 2:00 PM at the FW Visitors' Center in Downtown Fort Worth.  There was two tour guides one at the front and rear of the group.  Forth Worth has a lot of history

one of the banks has been maintained original look today of when it was first builtsome of the buildings have been totally remodeled but still retain the historic exterior as this building that 95.4 resides in

Downtown Fort Worth is made up of modern architecture which sometimes sits right next to a very old historic structure.

Haltom's Jewelry Store building - the clock on the corner is even outstanding

...how about a cycle party thru Fort Worth?

You can take a Segway Tour thru Fort Worth

our tour guides shared history of the buildings even back to what gunfights took place there

Old hotels, the first Fort Worth fire station, AMC theater, etc.

Many buildings with interesting histories - we won't spoil all the facts for you here

Tarrant County Courthouse, one of the many neat courthouses in TX; it resembles the Texas State Capital in Austin, TX
The modern building across from the courthouse provides some opportunities for interesting photography ...with reflections

wait ...we know those folks ...why that is Frank & Lei out cruising around in their C3

The Commerce Building ...which has been bought and sold numerous times has had so many names and renovations, they have plaques on the outside of the building showing the variations and history.

The Ashton Hotel

...more photos (81 photos)

Did you know Fort Worth was known as the Panther City?

At the end of the formal tour, we took a group picture by one of Sundance Square's water features.

you then had some time to wander around on your own before dinner

some of headed over to check out Fort Worth's oldest Saloon - the Red Goose Saloon

We all grouped back up for dinner at Riscky's BBQ

THE END
