DAY 7 - Friday 6/24 continued
passed by a lakemore cyclist

Our Next Adventure

After passing thru Montrose, we turned north into the Black Canyon of the Gunnison
we stopped at a 3-4 overlooks, viewed the amazing formations, grabbed some photos ...then loaded back up - more overlooks to see

informative signs shared the different types of formations found here

a sign sharing the volume of water that flows at the bottom of the canyon

one of a kind great photo opps at every overlook

the painted wall was probably one of the most favorite overlooks - rock formations like we had never seen before
every overlook we stopped at, we had a min-car show

Doug climbed into the crevice capture the painted wall with a rock frame around it

amazing rock formations on the walls - looked like a large-scale granite countertop

solid rock yet areas where vegetation managed to survive

The visitor center - great balcony view over the canyonthere were trails connecting several of the overlooks

at the visitor center, you could play ranger for a photo op

Our Evening Destination

we checked into our lodging for the night, Tomichi Village on the east side of Gunnison
we went to our rooms and the hotel staff was there to help you with your luggage

after a few rain showers, most decided their Vettes needed a bath and detailing; especially since we had an appointment at the Royal Gorge tomorrow

some paid the hotel staff to clean / detail their Vettes while others did their own (wait - Glenda, that isn't our Vette)

Tonight's Dinner Reservations

tonight we enjoyed a plated dinner at the Blue Table, onsite at Tomichi

Tonight's menu (pre-selected) was outstanding!!!

Thanks Alex!

The Rest of the Evening

stuffed and relaxed, we headed back to our rooms - at least some did
some of us went out and enjoyed a campfire at the fire pit afterwards - great evening for it
