Happy Spring, hope everyone had a great April.
The Larry and Sylvia Hoaldridge Memorial
Event looks to have been a great event. As competitors left, they seemed
appreciative and had a good time. Thank you to James and Larry for
coordinating. Also thank you to all the workers. From my perspective, it
was another professionally run event as Cowtown always puts on. I worked
a corner, section 3, there were a few oh *^%!*$# moments. Joe and I kept
moving our chair over to make sure we were out of the way when the cars
spun out. Luckily no one spun. It was a definite heart stopper corner.
And that means everyone has a great time.
Everyone needs to plan on coming out and
participate in the 13th Annual Spring Scramble, May 17th and 18th. It
will be at Fat Daddy’s in Mansfield.
I’m still looking for a Parliamentarian,
Sponsorship, and Cruise Master.
I’m so grateful everyone seems to like our
new meeting location. Please thank Pinstripes for hosting us (words and
tips). They are loving the cars parked in the circle during out
meetings. I sent Pinstripes a photo from the February meeting. They
loved it so much they sent it to the corporate office. FYI: speaking
of parking. Only park in the circle driveway if you signed up for that
month and I have confirmed with you. Kim West Thanks to
the Rod and Gayle Cherry, Mack Maxwell, Brian Glass, and the Batchelor’s

May 2025
I am currently working on the 50th
Anniversary Scrapbook with the hopes of having it finished by the May 7th
membership meeting. It will concentrate on the 50th year of 2024,
but it will also contain tidbits from 2015 - 2023. This decade
included many high points for the club as well as many changes that
affected the way we do things, most notable being the world wide pandemic
of 2020. I see this as being the last “put together, physical”
scrapbook that we will have as everything now days will be archived
digitally.
I would like to say a huge thank you to
Mack Maxwell who has agreed to house our archived collection of historical
memorabilia, including scrapbooks, LowDowns, Blue Bars, club awards, etc.

If you have not rec’d your 50 th Anniversary
Cowtown Vettes commemorative Deck of Playing Cards, please attend the next
Membership Meeting and see me. Each primary member /
household receives one deck of cards. I’ll bring a few
decks on the next cruise as well. If you’d like an extra
set (or two), see me as well, we did purchase extra decks of cards- these
are $5 per deck.
We will have the Events, Socials and such in the
next Slideshow. The slideshow will continue to
include some Corvette Trivia along with various other Corvette
happenings around the country. Brian (our webmaster) does post a
lower-resolution version online, on the CTV Website. Please provide any
submissions for the slideshow to me no later than Sunday evening of
the Membership Meeting week.
If you have been working on or updating your
Corvette with new items …or if you have taken a trip in your Corvette and
have some photos to share with membership, please send those to me and
I’ll include them in the monthly slideshow. Cowtown’s
Microsoft O365 account allows us to use OneDrive, which makes
it much easier for you to provide high-resolution photos from events for the
web and/or monthly slideshow. If you would like to share photos, please
take them in high-resolution; if not, they can’t be used on
the big screen since they would show grainy / blurry. These are needed
by noon, the Monday before the Membership Meeting. If you have questions,
please contact me and I’ll provide you with more information and the
OneDrive link to share your photos – basically use the highest
resolution option you can set on your camera or smartphone .
When you receive a CTV-ALL eMail blast, we would
request that you please only reply to the
originator when you are replying to a CTV-ALL email. When you opt
to reply, simply select Reply on the email, then remove
the CTV-All entry and replace it with the email address of the
originator. If you are sending CTV-ALL emails, please include your email
address in the body of the email so you have that address handy.
If you change your email or home address, Corvette, or
other info – please drop an email to
CTV-Membership@groups.io.
If you are not receiving CTV-ALL emails, please get
with me so we can either add you or figure out why you aren’t receiving
them.
More information on email distribution lists and the
acceptable use of them
can be found on our
website .
Facebook – if you are on Facebook and not a “friend” of
Cowtown Vettes, members cannot include you in tags at events; these tags
show your non-club member friends all the fun we are having. Who knows,
maybe some of you are in the witness protection program and
don’t want to be tagged J If you are
posting, be sure to tag Cowtown Vettes so it appears on our Facebook
news feed.

Hello Fellow Cruisers,
When y'all read this article, I
will have already completed my last cruise to the George
H. W. Bush library in College Station. I hope all had a
good time and enjoyed the trip.
As I informed everyone in attendance at our March club
meeting, this was my last cruise I will be leading for
the foreseeable future. The care and needs of my wife
Cydnie will require my full-time attention as she has
begun her second round of cancer treatment. It's now
time for someone else to step up and continue Cowtown's
cruise program.
I want to thank everyone for your kind thoughts and
prayers during this trying time. The tag line 'I came
for the cars, but stayed for the people' was never
truer. We will get through this together and both of
us will be back better than ever. Cowtown is the best
extended family we could ever have.
Your Chairpersons
Robert & Cydnie Geyer

Keep taking those 'what I saw along the way pictures'
and keep gathering your cruiser points.

Hi everyone,
Thanks to everyone who participated in the
50/50 drawing last month. We collected $275 and the
lucky winner of the drawing was Brian Glass, who took home half.
As always, we appreciate your generosity! Over
the next few months, we will have some extra items in the drawings that
have recently been donated to us by members. More
chances to win!
Our next Charity event will be at the June
membership meeting, where Debbie Sharpe from Don’t Forget to Feed Me Pet
Food Bank will be collecting our pet food donations.
Please bring cat and dog food to the June meeting according to the
guidelines below. If you are unable to bring pet food
to the meetings or would rather make a monetary donation, please contact
Debbie Lindsey or Paula Winter.
The mission of Don’t Forget to Feed Me (DF2FM)
is to supply pet food to local agencies in support of pet owners while
educating the public about pet food insecurity. By
providing pet food for those in need during challenging financial times
and increasing awareness, they offer an alternative to surrendering - or
worse, abandoning - a family pet. Don’t Forget to
Feed Me helps to ensure that no pet owner must choose between stay or
go. DF2FM is a 501(c)3 nonprofit based in Fort Worth.
The following is a list of the items
they can accept:
• Canned
dog and cat food
-
any brand, any variety (including recently expired
and damaged product)
•
Dry dog and cat food food
-
any brand, any variety (including recently expired
and damaged product)
•
Gallon-size Ziploc-style bags
They cannot accept:
•

Other Charity events coming up:
Tarrant Area Food Bank:
Thursday, June 26th, 1 - 4 pm
Cook Children’s Group Visit:
Friday, July 25th, 10:15 am - 12:15 pm
Debbie Linsey and Paula Winter will have a
sign-up sheet available for the Tarrant Area Food Bank at the May and
June meetings. If you will not be at those meetings
and would like to help out at the food bank, please contact Debbie (debglind@aol.com)
or Paula (jpwinter80@gmail.com).
We look forward to seeing you all at the next
meeting!

For Only $750,000 you can buy a C8 Z06 GT3.R |
|
|
 |
...and you have to have an
approved race team
|
|
The Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R is a GT3-spec race car built by Pratt
Miller Engineering and Chevrolet to compete in GT3 racing series like
LMGT3 and GTD/GTD Pro. It's
a successor to the Corvette C8.R, which was retired after the GTE class
was discontinued. The
Z06 GT3.R is a customer-focused race car that leverages the experience
of Corvette Racing and production teams, according to Chevrolet. |
|
|
.jpeg) |
|
|
|
The LT6 engine for the GT3.R originates from the Performance Build
Center in Bowling Green, the same line on which all production
Corvette Z06 engines are built.
The 5.5L powerplant shares more than 70 percent of its parts with
the production Z06 engine, including the crankshaft, connecting
rods, cylinder heads, fuel injectors, coils, gaskets and a variety
of other sensors.
|
|
|
Those wins have led to 14 Manufacturer’s and Driver’s
championships and 15 Team titles. No team in IMSA history has
won more races or championships than Corvette Racing in that span. |

A Peek Into The Future?? |
|
|
 |
|

-
GM has unveiled a concept for a future Corvette,
the first of three concepts due this year.
-
The first publicly shown work from GM’s new design center in
England.
-
Former Lotus and JLR man Julian Thomson heads the design center in
Royal Leamington Spa.

The images show a Corvette that seems to be a fanboy of hypercars like
the Aston Martin Valkyrie (which was designed 11 miles / 18 km away),
while also paying homage to the Vette’s past. So while the dramatic
cutaway section in the nose, huge intakes on either side, and another
set of intakes ahead of each rear wheel, means the lower half of the
concept taps into the latest aero knowhow, the upper portion feels much
calmer, more Corvette in
comparison. |
|
|
 |
|
|
“It was important that they all pay homage to Corvette’s
historic DNA, but each studio brought their own unique creative
interpretation to the project. That is exactly what our advanced design
studio network is intended to do – push the envelope,
challenge us to imagine what could be.” senior VP of global design
Michael Simcoe said.
|
|
|
 |
|
|
|
What do you think of this Corvette concept and would
you like to see the production C9 taking cues from this
Brit-designed study? |

LowDown Article - NCM Ambassador
May 2025
In addition to being the Cowtown Vettes
Historian, I have also assumed the position of National Corvette Museum
Ambassador.
The NCM is located at 350 Corvette Dr in
Bowling Green, Kentucky.
In addition to the Nostalgia Gallery
“which takes visitors on a journey through the iconic eras of Corvette
history, showcasing classic models and memorabilia that celebrates the
timeless appeal and cultural impact of America’s Sports Car”, there are
special exhibits, educational opportunities, special activities, museum
car delivery and also, the NCM Motorsports Park.
One of the special exhibits available
now through 12/31/2025 is Speed Captured: The Photographic Works of
Richard Prince. Prince spend 30 years documenting “the evolution of the
Corvette and its historical role in racing”.
Also, coming up in the latter part of
April is the Museum Bash and in August they will celebrate the 31st
anniversary of the museum.
If you haven’t been to the museum, I
would highly encourage you to make the trip to see it and if you are not
a member I would encourage that also, as a way to keep up with what is
going on in the Corvette world and as a way to connect with other
Corvette enthusiasts.
Information regarding memberships,
tickets, etc are available on the NCM website.
