Happy Holidays
The year is winding down and what a year it has
been! I’m counting my blessings every day.
I have been working hard to find us a new and
ongoing meeting location that meets most of our needs. Please be patient
with the transition.
On Dec. 3rd we will be back at Angelo’s
BBQ.
This time of year, is great for giving to the
community. Thank you to everyone who worked at the Tarrant Area Food
Bank on Nov. 19th.
CTV will be collecting new un-wrapped toys for Toys
for Tots again this year. Please bring the toys to either the Dec. 3rd
membership meeting or the Christmas Party.
Thank you to Randy and Cathy Baker for coordinating
the toy drive.
Be sure to sign up for the Christmas Party. The
location sounds like it will be a hoot’n good time and a fun western
theme. Dust off your boots and contact Gayle Cherry for your
reservation.
We will be giving out the year end awards during
the party.
Have a Merry Christmas,
Kim West
Thanks to Larry Currey for filling in as Web

LowDown Article - Historian
September 2025
I had great fun putting together the
Cowtown Vettes 50th Anniversary scrapbook. I tried to encompass a
great deal of what happened during the decade of 2015 to 2024... it was
fun looking back through pictures, the website and LowDowns from that
period of time.
This era was dissected by the Covid
pandemic of 2020 which brought about a myriad of changes to how we operate
on a daily basis in life overall as well as as a club.
First of all our membership is getting
older not only locally, but regionally and nationally, also. Venues
for racing or events are not as readily available or affordable.
From a historical point of view, going
forward I feel we will be relying on our digital LowDown for club info and
memories as well as the new website (when it is available) where our
current activities as well as
past activities, etc will be archived.
The historian will still be responsible
for gathering misc. info, club trophies, etc.
Thanks again to Mack Maxwell for storing
our physical archives.

If you have been working on or updating your
Corvette with new items …or if you have taken a trip in your Corvette and
have some photos to share with membership, please send those to me and
I’ll include them in the monthly slideshow. Cowtown’s
Microsoft O365 account allows us to use OneDrive, which makes
it much easier for you to provide high-resolution photos from events for the
web and/or monthly slideshow. If you would like to share photos, please
take them in high-resolution; if not, they can’t be used on
the big screen since they would show grainy / blurry. These are needed
by noon, the Monday before the Membership Meeting. If you have questions,
please contact me and I’ll provide you with more information and the
OneDrive link to share your photos – basically use the highest
resolution option you can set on your camera or smartphone .
When you receive a CTV-ALL eMail blast, we would
request that you please only reply to the
originator when you are replying to a CTV-ALL email. When you opt
to reply, simply select Reply on the email, then remove
the CTV-All entry and replace it with the email address of the
originator. If you are sending CTV-ALL emails, please include your email
address in the body of the email so you have that address handy.
If you change your email or home address, Corvette, or
other info – please drop an email to
CTV-Membership@groups.io.
If you are not receiving CTV-ALL emails, please get
with me so we can either add you or figure out why you aren’t receiving
them.
More information on email distribution lists and the
acceptable use of them
can be found on our
website .
Facebook – if you are on Facebook and not a “friend” of
Cowtown Vettes, members cannot include you in tags at events; these tags
show your non-club member friends all the fun we are having. Who knows,
maybe some of you are in the witness protection program and
don’t want to be tagged J If you are
posting, be sure to tag Cowtown Vettes so it appears on our Facebook
news feed.

Hi Cruisers
I led my last
cruise of 2025
in November and
had a great
turnout. I hope
everyone had as
much fun as I
did leading all
to Glen Rose for
lunch at the
Sexton Feed Mill
restaurant.
I now have the
results from my
Cruiser Photo
contest. This
was by far the
largest
participation
with some of the
best pictures
yet.
Come to the
Christmas party
and see if the
picture you
voted for was a
winner. In my
book they were
all winners.
Also the Cruiser
program points
have been
tabulated for
each participate
and those
winners will
also be
announced during
the party.
On a different
note, I have
been your
Cruiser program
chair for
several years
now and would
like to pass the
honor onto
someone else.
I
believe this is
necessary to
maintain a new
and fresh
perspective to
the program. So
if you might be
interested, come
talk to me and
I'll help get
you started with
all the help you
might need. I
think you would
find leading the
program as
rewarding as I
did.
That's all for
now and I'll see
y'all at our
Christmas Party

Corvette Racing Reveals Who Will Drive GTD Pro Class Entries In 2026
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Hot off a GTD
Pro title victory, Corvette
Racing is already looking to the future, announcing
which drivers will pilot the fleet of Corvette
Z06 GT3.R race cars in the 2026 IMSA WeatherTech
SportsCar Championship. The roster includes the return of familiar
faces, alongside a brand new driver joining to support The Bowtie
brand's efforts in the season's endurance races.
Six Corvette Racing factory cars will take
to the track for the GTD Pro title next year. Antonio Garcia and
Alexander Sims - the drivers who rallied to the GTD Pro title
in 2025 - will again split the No. 3 Corvette Z06 GT3.R
next year, racing in all 10 class events. Garcia celebrates his
18th season
with Vette in 2026, and Milner isn't far behind, marking his 16th campaign
as a factory driver.

|
|
"I’m really happy to be back with the Corvette and Pratt Miller
group again for next year," said Sims. "It’s been a great couple of
seasons with them full-time and obviously last year was fantastic in
winning all three GTD PRO championships.
We obviously have a very strong and experienced team on both sides
so our expectations are high. It’s a pleasure to be back with
Antonio and to race with Marvin, who is someone we all recognize as
highly talented and very fast."

Nico Verrone will return to help pilot the No. 4 Corvette alongside
Milner and Catsburg for the season's endurance races. Varrone is no
stranger to Vette machinery, winning the 2023 FIA World Endurance
Championship (WEC) GTE Am championship behind the wheel of a Z06
GT3.R.
Finally, Marvin Kirchhöfer will join Garcia and Sims in the
No. 3 Vette for the first time, bringing plenty of
motorsports expertise to the table. He has some experience with the
Z06 GT3.R, helping to win the 2025 24 Hours of Daytona with AWA
Racing. He'll do off-season testing with Vette and Pratt-Miller
Motorsports to get up to speed this week.

I am excited to start work on the
Cowtown Vettes website. I hope to get the site
updated quickly. I've started work on a new and
updated website, and I would like your opinion on what you'd like to see
on the new site. The update aims to:
●
give the site a fresh and new
look
●
make it easier to find upcoming
events
●
update the information on the
site
●
easier for the webmaster to
update the site
I have a draft that has not been
released to the public yet but if you want an early look at my thoughts.
When we release the new site, it will be accessible at the same address
you are used to (www.cowtownvettes.org),
and the old website will receive a new address, allowing us to still
access the historical data.
https://sites.google.com/view/cowtownvettes You may see
changes on this site as I try out new or different looks to test.
Please email me at
James@swaringen.us
or fill out the form on the new site with your suggestions or questions.
Thanks,
James Swaringen

LowDown Article - NCM Ambassador
Sept 2025
“The mission of the National Corvette
Museum is to educate worldwide
audiences on the evolution of the
Corvette --America’s Sports Car-- through collections, preservation, and
celebration of its legacy.”
At the museum’s 31st anniversary
celebration that was just held on August 28 - 30, 2025, Zora Arkus -
Duntov’s, only Corvette, fully restored was debuted. Who, you ask,
is Zora Arkus - Duntov? Depending on where you read he is referred
to as either the “Father of the Corvette” or the “Godfather of the
Corvette” although Harley Earl was the original designer of the
Corvette. After seeing the 1953 Corvette on display in New York
City, Arkus - Duntov wrote General Motors that he found the car
“visually superb, but was disappointed with what was underneath”.
He went to work at GM in May of 1953 as a staff engineer with the idea
of changing that perception and was “pivotal in elevating the Corvette
into a world class performance vehicle”. The only Corvette Arkus -
Duntov owned was a retirement gift from Chevrolet. You can read more
about his life and work on the museum’s website or other online sources.
For the latest on museum happenings you
can go to the website for info. Museum members can log onto the website
for more news and info. As always the museum offers car raffles, NCM
insurance, shopping and event info as well as article about exhibits.

Cowtown Vette’s 23rd
Annual Car Show
Cowtown Vette’s 23rd Annual
Car Show is behind us and although Mother Nature didn’t exactly
cooperate, it was still a great show. We had 58 pre-registered
cars, and we’re told that was the most pre-registered cars we’ve ever
had. A total of 72 cars joined the show.
Congratulations to our Best of Show
winners:
Early model: Paul and Mary Wolter, C1
1962 Satin Silver Convertible

Late model: Eudale Bell, C8 2023
Black Coupe

Our own Tony Sokoloski won the 50/50
raffle!
We learned a lot about putting on a show
at our new location, and the good news is that Jerry’s Chevrolet has
invited us back again. That’s a great start for planning the 24th
annual show!
Thanks to everyone who volunteered on the
committee and the day of the show! We couldn’t have done it
without you!
