Carol Savage and Jim Jones have us set for an August 4th tour of the 21 Dead Sea Scrolls that are currently on display at the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary’s MAC Gorman Chapel, 4616 Stanley Ave., Fort Worth, Texas. Jim has us a special tour guide and depending on the number who take the tour, a discounted price. The tour is set for 10:00 AM and is expected to last 1 to 1.5 hours so please be there by 9:45 AM. Carol says bring a coat as they keep the temperature inside set for hanging meat. There is a very large parking lot just south of the Gorman Chapel and the Seminary will provide security for the Corvettes and want to take pictures of our cars. This is not a 100%er! Following the tour (11:30 AM drivers meeting) we will cruise the back roads of Tarrant, Johnson, and Ellis Counties with stops at the Johnson and Ellis County Courthouses (for cruiser points) headed for lunch at the Twisted Frog, 200 S. Rogers St. Waxahachie, Texas. For those who might not want to take the Dead Sea Scrolls tour but want to go on the cruise, meet us in the Gorman Chapel parking lot, 4616 Stanley Ave., Fort Worth, Texas for the 11:30 AM drivers meeting. We should be on the road by 11:45 AM and that will make us at the Twisted Frog between 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM (might want to have a late breakfast/bring snacks). Please bring your radios and as always, please check the Cruiser Schedule http://cowtownvettes.org/CCP/cruisersch.html for upcoming cruises and any last minute changes.
