This was a tough weekend for a cruise since it was immediately preceding the Thanksgiving Holidays and several folks had the desire to join the cruise but couldn't for various reasons.

The Cowtown Cruiser Program (CCP) officially kicked off February 1, 2005.  This cruise was the season ending sponsored cruise for the program.  All stops along the cruise are not shown below - the cruise captured 17 points towards the annual CCP Awards Program.

As you can tell from this route map, one of my goals is to avoid Interstates and see what you can see along the way - it is also much safer to find places to stop for pictures for the cruiser program.

CCP Season End Cruise - Beaver's Bend, OK

Cruisin' down the highway

Some of the places you pick to visit for the letter of the alphabet will allow you to find some interesting things

if nothing else, you will visit places you never thought you would and you'd be surprised at what you find at some of the stops.

Safe places to stop and take the points photos are of primary concern.

...and while my slogan states "The CRUISE IS NOT about the destination... IT IS ABOUT what you see along the way!"   ...sometimes great destinations are also found.

After playing with several possible routes for this cruise, we decided to make it a weekend get-away, then Glenda & I kicked around going back to the Beaver's Bend area, an area we have camped many times but had never really done much else.

After doing some research and running across Pine Meadow Cabins, Dian was very helpful with our accommodations!!!

Dian even gave us some ideas on places to eat and a great idea to visit the Muscle Car Legends Museum a little south in Idabel, OK - a MUST SEE!!!!

Doug & Dian Werhane, owners and our hosts for the weekend - Thank You!

The Morrisons and Greenfeders shared a 2-bedroom cabin, "The Whispering Choctaw" that was awesome!!!

The Wells, Meyers and McMahans shared a 3-bedroom cabin, "The Cabin Out Back" which was still under construction - it was clean as promised and it worked out great!

Have you ever stared up a 60+ foot tall pine tree?
