Friday night at the track

We arrived at the facility 5ish on a nice sunny Friday afternoon to setup the course or the weekend's events.  Volunteers to assist me for course setup were Rick Watson and Jim Forsythe along with Paul Wolters and Charles Whitacker from CCT.

Many thanks to Henry (Cap) and Marlyn for transporting the CTV trailer to and from the facility this weekend.

We did watch the storm clouds roll to the north of us ...then they took a sudden turn to the south, headed straight for us - the weather even mentioned there was a considerable amount of circular motion in this storm including a tornado warning for Mineral Wells

...as we were getting ready to mark the cones, all HAIL broke loose, shortly after the sandstorm and high winds - we raced north from the track for shelter at the mall.

We headed back to the track after the hail quit - to see how bad it was... it was still raining lightly and there was a river running across the heliport pad

...surveying across the heliport, we could tell the course was now all washed up
cones were not even close to where we had set them up today
since it was still raining, we decided to g into Mineral Wells and eat dinner

We headed back out one last time to FIND and pick-up the cones... which became very difficult with our headlights.
Many thanks to Don, Karyn, Sharon & Glenda for helping me       ...Doug

The Autocrosses on Saturday

Jim met us at the track at 6am to get the course set back up after the storm devastated it last evening

The course was setup was a little over 8 10ths of a mile in length

the competitors setup their shelter from the sun, checked their Vettes and bs'd until time

the turn-out this year was less than last year's event however, we didn't need bail-out money

Rick Garabedian (Event Coordinator) for CTV and Paul Wolters (CCT) held the combined drivers meeting for Saturday's BRCC and CCT events
Mike Lanzara (BRCC Governor) was on hand for the events.

Scott Wheeler was the starter for the event

We thank CCT (Bradley's) offered the use of their motor home for timing The timing printer was located by the motor home with the board located on the back side

Karyn & Sharon scheduled the Corner Workers which included Cowtown and some CCT workers
John & David with their CCP sign - however, guys, you need to have YOUR Vette in the picture to make the photo count for a point

Don wells (CTV President) handled cooking hamburgers and hotdogs; he was assisted by Alaine, Henry & Marlyn

Don & Cindy cleaning up someone's mess
