2011 CHARITIES

Jane Buehler is our 2011 Charities Chairperson & Cory Armes Co-Chair

Donations from the 50/50 Raffle, held at our Membership Meetings and other events are contributors to the following Charities.  Cowtown Members also donate needed items, their time and additional monetary donations above and beyond the formal CTV Charity Program.

2011 Charities

I want to thank everyone for your support for the 50/50 raffle we had at each of our monthly meetings in 2011.  We raised over $2500 with our 50/50 raffle this year! Check out the list of monthly winners. You may want to ask Don and Carlanne for their secret to having the winning ticket three times in 2011! The TMS Weekend, the October Car Show and the Progressive Dinner added additional funds to our charity donations. We distributed over $8,500 in charity contributions this year.

The following organizations were very thankful for our monetary contributions this year:

American Heart Association
Cook Children’s Hospital
National Kidney Foundation
Operation Home Front – The Barrera Family Christmas
Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure
Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk
Tarrant Area Food Bank
West Texas Fire Fighters

And…Kim delivered 330 pounds of pet food to the “Don’t Forget to Feed Me” organization.
Not only were you generous with your money, you were also giving of your time! Twenty-nine walkers participated in the Fort Worth Kidney Walk and thirty-one walkers supported the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Sharon Zschirnt gave 30 hours of her time to support the Susan G. Komen Three-Day Walk. On two different occasions a total of 49 members and guests donated over seventy-three hours at the Tarrant Area Food Bank to sort, weigh and organize food that would be delivered to the area agencies for distribution. Another special time for each of you was when you gave your time to support the Cook Children’s Hospital Christmas party. I never know who gets the most from this party, the volunteers or the children, but it is indeed a special event for our club!

I also want to thank my husband, Bill and my Co-chair Cori Armes for their support throughout the year.

This position is definitely more than a one person job and I couldn’t do it without their help!

I’m looking forward to what we can do in 2012!
