CCP WINERY & ART CRUISE - CTV - 10/21/07 - PAGE 1 OF 3

CCP Winery & Art Cruise

While this cruise was sponsored out of the Cowtown Cruiser Program, there was only one stop on the cruise that included points towards the CCP program.  The focus of this cruise was to enjoy the cooler Fall weather, time with friends along with a little wine and art culture.  While this program is to promote enjoyment of your Corvette, you will see that we do not prohibit someone from joining in the fun if they don't have one available for the cruise.

Cowtown had 8 Vettes (2-non-Vettes) and 17 Members & 2 Guests that participated.

The cruisers met at Lowe's in Mansfield with a 10 am planned departure.

We waited a bit longer than planned for one missing couple - finally departing at 10:10 am

Our 1st Stop - Sunset Winery - Burleson, TX

We arrived at the winery where owners Bruce & Birgit Anderson had lunch and a great visit planned for us.

Most of the cruise group at Sunset prior to lunch - the group photo taken by Bill Farley.

Jack & Karla Gandy hadn't joined us yet

Bruce provided the history of Sunset Winery, the story of their vineyards and the facility.

Lunch was catered by Sunset for us to enjoy in the Barrel Room which had been nicely prepared.

We enjoyed tasting five of their wines, along with a gourmet croissant sandwich, vegetable tray, potato salad and a piece of cheesecake; last but not least, one glass of wine (your choice) was included.

After lunch, Birgit took half the group for a tour of their wine making processes

Here, Mary demonstrated the labeling process

Bruce took the rest of us after they had time to get about half-way thru the tour

The tour was great, lots of detail, some humor and of course all questions were answered

Bruce demonstrating the bottle labeling

Bruce then demonstrated the final process of placing the cap over the cork

After you finished the tour, you were routed to the wine tasting bar to pay for your lunch and any desired purchases

Bruce visted with us outside as we waited on everyone to finish - he then took some pictures of each Vette & owner before our departure
